Read MoreThis year we supported 25 educators coordinating on 14 Watershed Classroom projects that spanned 13 schools. This was also the first year the program covered all 12 grade levels. Between these projects, our David Yearsley River Heritage Center field trips, and loans from our materials library, we were able to serve an estimated 1300 local students!

The live, on-line presentation was titled, Inquiry and the Real World: The Watershed Classroom, and was an opportunity to update educators around the country on the progress of Petaluma's Watershed Classroom Project.

Spring, 2013, marks the beginning of an ambitious educational project which aims to see every student in Petaluma at every grade-level learning about the Petaluma Watershed. The goal envisions Petaluma’s kindergartners through high school seniors learning some aspect of science and social studies, English, and even math, through hands-on, project-based lessons that have been designed by their teachers with a focus on the River and the Watershed.
