From the Classroom

Frank H. Denman

"The following is a student created blog regarding the history of the Petaluma Watershed. This blog is part of a series from students at Casa Grande participating in the Watershed Classroom with educators Paula Biancalana and Jolene Thinnes."

The Petaluma Seed Bank used to be the Sonoma County National Bank and the Petaluma Savings Bank. The Seed Bank is located on 199 Petaluma Boulevard North. Frank H. Denman used to work at the Seed Bank. In 1886, Denman was elected cashier of Sonoma County National Bank and has held that position ever since. Denman also owned property in Petaluma that was called Denman Flats. Denman Flats is part of the floodplain for the Petaluma River, it is now located next to the Redwood Highway South on 200 Stony Point Road in Petaluma, California. It’s now the Petaluma Golf Center.
